D-Link DGS-1005D is the latest generation of Gigabit Unmanaged Switch which supports IEEE802.3az EEE standard and innovative “Green Ethernet Technology”.
1.Compliant with IEEE802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet standard: IEEE802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet standard was ratified in the end of 2010. The EEE institute released a new standard specific to reduce power consumption during the network traffic zero time. When IEEE802.3az EEE was enabled on DGS-1005D, the switch shut off the transmitted and received circuit. The transmitted and received circuit will be activated until detecting the packets transmitted and received by the switch. IEEE802.3az EEE aims to reduce energy consumption of switch (DGS-1005D) and utilizes energy a lot. DGS-1005D achieves up to 85% saving percentage when connected devices are EEE-compliant and network traffic is zero. In comparison with other switches in market, DGS-1005D is the only one Gigabit Unmanaged switch compliant with IEEE802.3az EEE feature.
2.These environmentally-friendly devices decrease energy costs through the reduction of power consumption without sacrificing operational performance or functionality, providing benefits to both the ecosystem and Home/SOHO/SMB users. By reducing power consumption, less heat is produced, resulting in extended product life and lower operating costs. D-Link is the only one in worldwide to offer both of power saving technologies.
About D-Link Corporation
Founded in 1986, D-Link is a global leader in advanced networking, broadband, digital, voice and data communication solutions. We continually meet the needs of the digital home, small office, small-to-medium sized businesses, and enterprise environments.
In 1986, D Link founder Ken Kao and six colleagues set out on an entrepreneurial venture that would forever change the computer networking industry. D Link was founded under the name Datex Systems. The name D Link takes the leading D from Datex, combining it with the concept of a “link” connecting people. In fact, D Link’s Chinese name roughly translates as “friends networking together.” This concept continues to shape D Link’s brand today. Though founded as a small venture, D Link has since swelled into an international networking giant with over 2,800 employees worldwide. D Link has emerged as a trusted brand with a worldwide reputation for robust and affordable networking solutions, and has renewed its commitment to developing “green” technologies and IPv6 ready hardware which will prepare its customers for an alluring new era of ultimate connectivity.
