D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today introduced a technological breakthrough media player that allows users to stream popular Web-based content available on their PC to a TV, either wired or wirelessly.
D-Link® PC-on-TV (DPG-1200) lets users go to the Internet and stream Web-based content, such as YouTube videos, Google Video, Veoh Networks’ content and more, directly from their PCs without the use of a proprietary media player. They can watch MPEG-4 or any AVI videos or virtually any local video content, and use any media player, such as iTunes, Nero, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, etc. directly on any projector or digital television*.
D-Link PC-on-TV, which is a member of the MediaLounge family of media players, works both with TVs and projectors and supports photo viewing at 1280x720 (1024x768) screen resolution and streaming video at 640x480 resolution at up to 30 frames per second, and allows consumers to easily browse their content with a mouse-like trackball remote control.
“The D-Link PC-on-TV media player is a perfect compliment to our current line of media players.
About D-Link Corporation
Founded in 1986, D-Link is a global leader in advanced networking, broadband, digital, voice and data communication solutions. We continually meet the needs of the digital home, small office, small-to-medium sized businesses, and enterprise environments.
In 1986, D Link founder Ken Kao and six colleagues set out on an entrepreneurial venture that would forever change the computer networking industry. D Link was founded under the name Datex Systems. The name D Link takes the leading D from Datex, combining it with the concept of a “link” connecting people. In fact, D Link’s Chinese name roughly translates as “friends networking together.” This concept continues to shape D Link’s brand today. Though founded as a small venture, D Link has since swelled into an international networking giant with over 2,800 employees worldwide. D Link has emerged as a trusted brand with a worldwide reputation for robust and affordable networking solutions, and has renewed its commitment to developing “green” technologies and IPv6 ready hardware which will prepare its customers for an alluring new era of ultimate connectivity.
