Ho Chi Minh City, June 7th, 2017 –This year marks the debut participation of the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at Vietnam ICT COMM. Companies like Acer, HTC, ASUS, Optoma and Transcend, and 33 Taiwan Excellence Award winning brands will be showcasing their latest technologies and innovations in the areas of business solutions, gaming and the Internet of Things (IoT) at the upcoming three-day exhibition slated 7-9 June, at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

Taiwan is the 5th largest economy in Asia and currently ranks 10th globally in innovation. It has been an indispensable player in the world’s high technology sector dominating the global semiconductor market and accounts for a considerable share of the global computer hardware, and mobile phones for the past three decades. The nation also held the 2nd largest fabless integrated circuit (IC) market share in the world at 18% in 2016. Taiwan is forging its path from being a manufacturing efficiency-focused to an intellectual property- and innovation-driven economy.

Taiwanese innovators are well positioned in leveraging Taiwan’s technological prowess, strong synergies with the global technology supply chain, and proven strengths in speed, value, flexibility and customization. Innovation, boldness, and a heavy emphasis on new technologies are all showcased in COMPUTEX, the largest computer exhibition in Asia and the second largest in the world, next to CeBIT in Germany. COMPUTEX 2017 attaches great importance to “Asia Silicon Valley Development Plan”, showing Taiwan’s greatest ambition and determination to it the best strategic partner for global high-tech startups.

Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at Vietnam ICT COMM 2017 will feature products and technologies that have been distinguished with “Taiwan Excellence Award”, the highest accolade bestowed upon Taiwan-originated products based on their excellence in design, quality, marketing, Taiwanese R&D, and manufacturing. According to Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the international trade development arm of Taiwan, the event is an avenue to promote Taiwan’s leadership in cutting edge technologies and to foster knowledge exchange and deeper partnership with customers, fellow innovators and members of the larger ICT industry. Taiwan Excellence pavilion will showcase 33 premium Taiwanese brands including Acer, ASUS, Aver, HTC, D-link, Edimax, Inwin, Kingmax, Transcend, Plustek, PX, Thermaltake, uHandy, and feature 80 innovative products over the three-day show.

Mr. Ming-Hui Tang, Director of Taiwan Trade Center Ho Chi Minh City remarks: “In 2016, 73.7% of Taiwan's total exports are delivered to Asian trading partners. Taiwan Excellence is sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Ministry of Economy of Taiwan (MOEA), and organized by the Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Association (TAITRA) since 1990. For the 8th year promoting in Vietnam, the campaign will bring several activities to the consumers, including Official Taiwan Excellence 2017 Press Conference on June 29th, Taiwan Excellence’s Experiencing Zone at AEON Mall, Hanoi between June 30th and July 2nd, and its pavilion at Taiwan Expo 2017 in Vietnam from July 26th to 28th.
