HCMC, January 15th 2017 – Taiwan Excellence, once again, has powered Ho Chi Minh City’s biggest running event of the year, HCMC RUN – The City Marathon 2017. As a part of the 25th anniversary of marathon in HCMC, Taiwan Excellence brings the most special and memorable moments for participating athletes and visitors via intriguing sport and fitness activities. The image endorser of Taiwan Excellence in Vietnam – singer and actress Minh Hang, also present at this event with her breathtaking performance and lively interactions with visitors at Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone.

Taiwan Excellence – 3 years accompanying HCMC RUN

Taiwan Excellence campaign was organized by Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) of Taiwan, and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) since 1990. Throughout 7th consecutive year launching in Vietnam, the campaign has been introducing Taiwan’s most innovative and value-added products to Vietnamese consumers.

Taking about Taiwan Excellence’s continuous support for HCMC RUN for several years, Ms. Judy Chang, Deputy General Director of Commercial Division of the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office shared, “2017 is the 25th year anniversary of marathon in HCMC, so Taiwan Excellence is really glad to be a part of that significant point in HCMC history. We are also very proud to, once again, accompany with HCMC RUN – The City Marathon 2017 powered by Taiwan Excellence, one of the year’s most highly-anticipated sport events in Vietnam. Our goal is to promote sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles to Vietnamese youth, as well as strengthen the Vietnamese - Taiwanese friendship”.

Ms. Judy Chang also mentioned about exciting achievement of Taiwan Excellence in Vietnam, “In almost 3 decades, Vietnam – Taiwan economic cooperation has been constantly developed, featured a 27-time growth in bilateral trade revenue and a 28-time increase of Taiwan’s investment capital in Vietnam. Currently, Taiwan ranks as the fourth largest source of foreign investment, and the fifth largest trade partner of Vietnam. There is a high expectation from Taiwan Excellence to continue the success of the campaign introducing brilliant made-in-Taiwan products – Taiwan Excellence to satisfy and enhance the quality of life of many Vietnamese consumers.”

2017 marked as the 3rd year that Taiwan Excellence accompanies for HCMC Run, as an annual gift for citizens, a huge contribution in promoting healthy lifestyles to Vietnamese young generation. Especially, with the aim of boosting the sportsmanship at its best to the whole community, Taiwan Excellence also donated an amount of USD 5,000 to the charity named Run with & Run for PWD/AOS at HCMC RUN. The proceed will be allocated to people with disabilities/survivors of Agent Orange (PWD/AOS) through two beneficiary organizations Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Association for PWD and Orphans and HCMC Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.

Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone at HCMC RUN – The City Marathon 2017

Besides the main marathon, Taiwan Excellence also takes a huge number of top sports and healthcare products from Taiwan to Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone – with the key theme of sporting and ICT products – at HCMC RUN 2017. The not-to-be-missed experiencing zone occurred from January 14th and 15th 2017 at the Crescent Plaza (105 Ton Dan Tien, District 7, Phu My Hung, HCMC).

This year, located in the center of the booth area, the Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone brings the award-winning brands that can definitely satisfy Vietnamese consumers. In particular, outstanding sports products include professional-grade treadmills from Johnson Health Tech, or latest devices that measure blood pressure from Microlife.

Not to mention, high-tech products from world-class brands such as Acer, Asus, HTC, and MSI also brings their most innovative tech items with amazing features and breakthrough designs. Especially, on the morning of January 15th 2017, Taiwan Excellence’s image endorser in Vietnam, singer-actress Minh Hang has come to Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone, performance some of her latest hits from 2016, and interact with audience via various games and fun activities. Participants also have a chance to take part in several activities related to Taiwanese top-class products, receive great souvenirs and try their luck in the special lucky draw to win the hottest high-tech items or HCMC-Taipei two-way airline ticket.

The greatest HCMC RUN – The City Marathon 2017 powered by Taiwan Excellence

After 4 years of successful organization, HCMC RUN 2017 has become an icon that the citizens of Ho Chi Minh City proud of. Taken place on January 15th 2017 at Crescent Plaza (105 Ton Dan Tien, District 7, Phu My Hung, HCMC), the marathon attracted nearly 7,000 people from a wide demographic, ranging from children to adults, sport enthusiasts to elite athletes, and locals to tourists. There has been a regular annual increase in the number of Vietnamese participants, demonstrating the positive impact on the behavior of sports in Vietnam. Besides the marathon itself, HCMC RUN 2017 also featured the special warm-up day and lot of activities during January 14th – 15th 2017. This is not only for runners to get ready before the race but also for family, children and young people to have a great day-out.
