The idea of Innodisk's Fire Shield SSD was inspired by the black box used in aeroplanes. When tragedy strikes, the preservation of various records is key for investigators to understand what caused the incident. Using the data to recreate the scenario, underlying causes can be identified and future accidents can be avoided. The Innodisk Fire Shield SSD can withstand 800°C of direct flames for 30 minutes.
In contrast to a traditional black box which requires integration in the early stages of product design, Innodisk has adopted a standard 3.5” hard drive casing which greatly lowers TCO and ensures compatibility with existing surveillance systems. As for the internal NAND, we provide the most reliable SLC and iSLC NAND IC to strike a balance between data reliability, performance, and total capacity.
