Lof Solar has launched the color mono half-cut cell modules, providing higher total yields than standard, full cell panels. The power output for a 120-piece color mono half cut cell module ranges from 300-310 W. Besides the enhanced output performance, other main features for this new product line include (1) decrease module temperatures (2) reduce the risk of hot spot effect (3) reduce the adverse impact of shadowing effect. For instance, the half-cut cells can still generate a 50% performance with the upper half of the module, even when the lower half is shaded. For those looking for a stylish solar solution and a high performer, this is the one. In a half-cell module, standard color full cells are cut into two equal halves. The wattage produced per cell is halved and resistance losses on cell and module level are reduced to one quarter, after cutting the cell. The path of the generated current is shortened by dividing the modules, further reducing resistance losses.
