The Fronthaul Multiplexer (FHM) is a telecommunications transmission device designed with an open network architecture, primarily applied in O-RAN and 5G private enterprise networks. It connects Radio Units (RU) with Distributed Units (DU), optimizing the RU to DU ratio from 8:8 to 8:1 per device. By linking multiple FHMs in series, the deployment can be scaled up to a RU to DU ratio of 64:1, significantly reducing network construction costs by at least 80%. The FHM is compatible with both proprietary and open systems, featuring protocol signal conversion technology that transforms proprietary signals into those usable by open systems. This capability addresses the issue of vendor lock-in faced by telecommunications operators. Additionally, the FHM supports remote control and algorithm updates via a Network Operating System (NOS), offering a cost-effective, flexible, and intelligent network communication solution.
