MiTAC’s VLM Cognitive AI Platform advances fleet safety from traditional event detection to proactive risk prediction. Built on Cognitive AI and Vision Language Model technologies, it integrates multi-camera footage, driver behavior signals, and road context to enable advanced scene understanding and behavior reasoning. The platform employs a Cognitive Edge-to-Cloud architecture: edge devices handle real-time alerts, while Cloud VLM performs high-order semantic reasoning. The system detects high-risk behaviors including fatigue, distraction, phone usage, smoking, eating, and seatbelt non-compliance, using multi-frame temporal analysis to drastically reduce false alarms.
