The real story from the president Chen Chin- Ting, in 1972, he was 19 years old and had been working as a trainee of the ironworker for 3 years. He had only 11 days off for the New Year holiday per year. At that time, his salary was NTD 10. The value of NTD10 can only pay the money to cut the hair and buy a slipper. During working as a trainee, Mr. Chen already had planned to open a machine factory and he got support from his families. Unfortunately, in the next year, the Oil Crisis had happened. That was a hard time to overcome for the machine factory, but Mr. Chen made unremitting efforts to conquer it by himself. However, in 1979, he got the first export purchase order and at the same time, he decided to get the official license for the company with the name of Shin-Yain Industrial co., Ltd. and designed the mark as “SYIC” that means “Working hard in the spring to make dream come true, then keeping the faith and going on to have the plentiful harvest in the full.”
