SP-9は、米国で実地調査と顧客のフィードバック情報収集を行い、共同研究により開発した高耐摩耗性CUV用タイヤです。米国の耐摩耗性ニーズとクロスオーバーSUV（CUV）の主流化に対応するため、開発過程において米国市場から直接得たフィードバックと意見を集結させ、優れた耐摩耗性と静粛性をもつ全方位タイヤを完成させました。発売後は欧米市場で大きな反響を呼んでいます。規格もCUVから乗用車まで全面的に対応し、まさにクロスオーバーが可能な製品です。SP-9は当社ROLLNEXシリーズのH/T製品に属し、従来のSUV用タイヤFT-4やSP-7に代わるモデルです。高い耐摩耗性により走行可能距離が大きく延び、米国のUTQGシステムを用いた試験で、舗装路の正常運転で平均96,000km以上走行可能という結果が出ました。また、耐摩耗性だけでなく、特殊なトレッドパターンによる静粛性も備えています。トレッド部は主に4本のワイドなストレート溝で構成され、排水性と操縦性をより高めました。緻密に計算されたサイプは走行時の路面の衝撃を効率よく吸収し、運転者も同乗者も快適です。このほか、センターリブとラグ溝はハンドリング性が安定し、偏摩耗を抑制するよう設計され、独自配合剤の効果も加わり、大幅な長寿命化を実現しました。さらに、研究開発部門のコンピュータシミュレーション技術を使ったパターンデザインにより、高速走行中の騒音も低減できます。
