This smart dishwasher is Taiwan’s first embedded dishwasher that automatically detects changes in humidity. After studying consumers’ behavior through the DFSS product development design procedures, Sakura discovered that dishwasher consumers prefer to have their plates “sterilized” as well as “dried”.
However, as the number of dishes changes based on the number of people in a household, it is hard to choose an ideal drying process. If there are too many plates or the appropriate drying schedule has not been selected, the plates will hardly be dry or too dry which wastes electricity. A smart design is therefore essential, so that consumers do not need to choose the drying schedule by themselves. Instead, the machine will make a decision based on the humidity inside the machine, and achieve a better sterilization effect.
