The Thunder Tiger Sea Shark 400 Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) is a vessel or vessel that operates on the water without crew control, and has various levels of autonomous operation capabilities, from remote control to fully autonomous surface vehicles (ASV). USV is extremely valuable in ocean science because they are easier to maneuver than moored or drifting weather buoys, yet cheaper to build than equivalent weather and research vessels, and more maneuverable than commercial vessels. Unmanned surface vehicles used for oceanographic research are often powered by renewable energy sources. Military applications for the USV include powered maritime target and mine hunting, as well as surveillance and reconnaissance, strike operations, and area or maritime defense, as well as in swarm attack and defense modes.
