For most semiconductor devices, thermal resistance, or junction temperature, is considered the most critical parameter of device efficiency and reliability. This parameter is indispensable in product specification of package and module design. Thermal resistance is directly proportional to junction temperature. The higher the thermal resistance, the higher will be the junction temperature, and consequently result in reduction of the efficiency and lifespan.
Aurotek LED thermal resistance analyzer JD-2020 is a world leading total quality inspection instrument used for LED manufacture, principally designed to reduce the thermal-induced stress in LED devices and assemblies. It makes innovative package designs with a properly determined material property identification, and facile the product life estimation.
After having acquired patent licensing from ITRI, Aurotek team developed hardware and software system independently to establish a unique method to highly increase the efficiency of thermal resistance measurement. The high speed in-line Rth technique effectively facilities measurement procedure, that is remarkably reducing measurement time with achieving the same results. It effectively shortens the research and qualification phase. The innovative technique is expected to supersede traditional multi-step temperature rising processes and improve the efficiency of total measurement. Successfully integrated with automatic sorting machine, JD-2020 imports in-line thermal resistance testing for LEDs.
