With the advent of the era of Industry 4.0, among the various robotic arms that are widely used in the automation industry and the robotics industry. Among these creative and delicate robotic arms, the strain wave drive in the joint is an important and precise key component. For robotic arm applications that require high positioning and repeatability accuracies, TPI strain wave drive can achieve a special level of positioning accuracy of 0.5 arc minutes and repeatability accuracy of 2 arc seconds. The precision of such a reducer depends on the design and manufacture of the complete conjugated tooth profile, as well as the perfect matching and combination of various parts. At the same time, in order to pursue the ultimate high torque density, TPI has being patented the development of a cup-shaped hollow structure, which was simultaneously applied to the robotic arm and e-bike mid-motor to achieve a lightweight, compact, high-torque hollow reduction mechanism.
