Trước khi tham gia thị trường sinh thái Apple Homekit, chất lượng, sản lượng và các thành phần bảo mật mạng liên quan của sản phẩm phải được chứng nhận bởi công ty chứng nhận sản xuất MFi của Apple và chỉ 2% đáp ứng tiêu chuẩn chứng nhận liên quan này.
